The U.S. Census Bureau has begun researching the feasibility of beginning to produce gridded census data. This presentation will discuss current progress and allow for the opportunity to hear from you, our data stakeholders regarding your needs and use cases for this new product.

Joshua Coutts is a geographer with the Geography Division of the U.S. Census Bureau for 18 years. His primary work focus has been on statistical geography (tracts, block groups, CDPs, and PUMAs), tribal geography, and the Island Areas. His current focus is on the Grids Project. He’s a Maryland native, but currently working from home in Fairfax, VA.
