2025-11-19 14:09:43 From Daniel Stoelb, OEM to Everyone: For the AI assistant, does that consume credits? [Ismael] ArcGIS assistants do not consume any ArcGIS Online credits while in beta or preview. The pricing for ArcGIS assistants is still not settled. Our intent at Esri is to include assistants as a feature included with your existing user type licenses. 2025-11-19 14:12:24 From Faith Lawless to Everyone: Can you give a quick explaination of what credits are? [Ismael] https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/administer/credits.htm 2025-11-19 14:12:41 From Daniel Stoelb, OEM to Everyone: Replying to "Can you give a quick explaination of what credits ...": https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/administer/credits.htm 2025-11-19 14:13:02 From Dr. Jim Mitchell - LA OTS to Everyone: Enriching a Layer is very powerful. But finding the variables to use in my workflow is very cumbersome. Can AI help me find the input field names to use in my enrich workflows? [Ismael] Yes, as long as fields have proper aliases set to help AI understand what each field represents. 2025-11-19 14:13:51 From Justin McCulloch - PUCO to Everyone: The audio is cutting out for me, Not sure if this is a wider issue. 2025-11-19 14:14:26 From Derek B. to Everyone: Audio has been ok for me. 2025-11-19 14:14:40 From Robert Kacir to Everyone: Can you generate a similar set of metadata in the Desktop software? [Ismael] The Item Details assistant (beta) is currently only available in ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise 12.0. It is likely for similar functionality to be available in ArcGIS Pro in the future, but we do not have a clear timeline or scope defined at this moment. 2025-11-19 14:14:57 From Robert Kacir to Everyone: Using AI 2025-11-19 14:16:02 From shawn.keizer to Everyone: ๐Ÿฅณ No more writing full metadata... I love this... 2025-11-19 14:17:07 From Grace J to Everyone: We have restrictions in our organization based on which AI interfaces are allowed. Are the AI assistants build off a different AI platform (ie- ChatGPT versus Claude)? Or, is Esri building their own? [Ismael] Most assistants use OpenAI models hosted in Microsoft Azure as part of the ArcGIS Online infrastructure. Details about this are available in trust.arcgis.com 2025-11-19 14:17:26 From Robbyn Abbitt Miami Univ (she/her) to Everyone: Can the form for the private beta program be shared in chat? [Ismael] Yes, I will share the slides in PDF format. 2025-11-19 14:17:32 From Samuel Mindel to Everyone: if my org is using enterprise, 11.x what ai features are still available? [Ismael] None. The AI tools and assistants we demonstrated are only available in ArcGIS Online at the moment. The only exception is the Item Details assistant (beta) which is part of ArcGIS Enterprise 12.0. You are going to see assistants initially evolve in ArcGIS Online exclusively. Once assistants are in General Release in ArcGIS Online we will start making them available in ArcGIS Enterprise, likely in version 12.2 2025-11-19 14:17:56 From Jett Legacion to Everyone: https://earlyadopter.esri.com/key/ItemDetailsAssistant 2025-11-19 14:20:09 From Maureen C., Custer County GIS/DES to Everyone: If I already have a notebook of codes, can the AI assistant give a summary of what the code will do? [Ismael] Yes, the assistant can 'explain' existing Python code 2025-11-19 14:20:16 From Jett Legacion to Everyone: From my understanding @Samuel Mindel , if the ai feature (for instance the Item Details assistant) was introduced in 12.0, then previous updates cannot access the new features. However, itโ€™s best to confirm this. [Ismael]That is correct, Jett. 2025-11-19 14:20:42 From shawn.keizer to Everyone: The big rule to remember with any of these AI tools is the 80/20 rule. Let AI do 80% and you refine, validate, adjust the 20% 2025-11-19 14:24:29 From Josh Cole to Everyone: Is the arcade AI Assistant in Beta? And is it available in Enterprise 11.x? [Ismael] More about Arcade assistant here: https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/arcgis-online/arcade/introducing-the-arcgis-arcade-assistant-beta Not available in Enterprise 11.x 2025-11-19 14:24:55 From Jett Legacion to Everyone: In beta, and only in Online as of right now. 2025-11-19 14:25:39 From Raquel Bensadoun to Everyone: Is there a dummies hack to how to prompt the assistants or examples of how to ask the right questions somewhere on the web? [Ismael] https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/arcgis/mapping/prompt-writing-for-ai-assistants 2025-11-19 14:26:28 From Brooke Serpa to Everyone: Any plan to develop AI assistances to help implement Solutions? [Ismael] Yes! I did not cover this in my presentation, but the ArcGIS Solutions team is working on an assistant to help with search and customization of existing solutions. For details, please contact: chris_fox@esri.com 2025-11-19 14:27:27 From Cait Boyer to Everyone: Prompt writing for AI assistants: https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/arcgis/mapping/prompt-writing-for-ai-assistants [Ismael] Thanks Cait! 2025-11-19 14:29:07 From Quality Geomatics, LLC (Erin Meadows) to Everyone: Is this AI compliant with CMMC standards? [Ismael] Please check for CMMC in trust.arcgis.com With this type of security standards for DoD the devil is in the details. I suggest you also work with your Esri account manager to understand the level of adherence to CMMC. 2025-11-19 14:33:52 From Faith Lawless to Everyone: Can this data explorer do calculations as well rather than a simple select? IE if you were trying to find the total KVA of transformers downstream of a certain point? [Ismael] No. The scope for now is limited to simple attribute and spatial queries. However, I can see how functionality will grow in the future, including network tracing. 2025-11-19 14:35:59 From Dr. Jim Mitchell - LA OTS to Everyone: AML!!! 2025-11-19 14:36:50 From shawn.keizer to Everyone: Can these agents work with real time or near real time datasets with high volume of changes occurring every second, Minute, Hour? [Ismael] To some extent, yes. Think of geospatial agents as software that is able to use GIS layers and tools to come up with answers to questions. If the GIS tool can work with highly dynamic dataset, the agent will simply leverage that capability. 2025-11-19 14:37:40 From shawn.keizer to Everyone: An example of this would be Wildfire Situational awareness. [Ismael] Ah! Thanks for the clarification. Then I would say very likely yes for that scenario. For example, an agent can work with dynamic data such as weather alerts, wildfire perimeters and last known location of emergency assets deployed. 2025-11-19 14:39:12 From Aaron Seifert, City of Sedona to Everyone: When might AI Assistant for metadata appear in ArcGIS Enterprise? [Ismael] ArcGIS Enterprise 12.0, in beta, which released.... Yesterday!. Read more here: https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/arcgis-enterprise/announcements/introducing-item-details-assistant-beta 2025-11-19 14:39:41 From Mara Kaminowitz to Everyone: Will the Data Explorer agent be compatible with screen readers and accessibility tools? It seems like this could be a big leap forward for creating web map accessibility. [Ismael] It should! For advocacy in Esri products regarding accessibility, please make your voice heard through EsriAccessibility@esri.com 2025-11-19 14:41:07 From Kim Wells to Everyone: I see the Data Explorer Instant App is scheduled for release in Q1 2026. Is this for both AGOL and Enterprise? [Ismael] Only for Online initially. 2025-11-19 14:42:21 From Daniel Stoelb, OEM to Emily Ruetz (direct message): I hope you all are going to get a copy of the slide deck - I've had to hop on and off and couldn't spend the entire time on the meeting today :( 2025-11-19 14:43:14 From Emily Ruetz to Daniel Stoelb, OEM (direct message): I'll do my best! 2025-11-19 14:43:38 From John Esch to Everyone: Question for your Data Explorer: Which of these water sources is most vulnerable to contamination? [Ismael] Love it! I did try your question and this is what I got: "Which of these water sources is most vulnerable to contamination? The most vulnerable water sources to contamination among the wells in Herrera Province are the 15 wells with the smallest depth values, all with a depth of 0 meters. They are now shown in the map" For context, the only data available to the agent was a layer with water sources including their ID, depth, elevation above sea level, use (domestic, farming...) and location. The AI chose to use the depth as the defining factor. Is this good or bad? Depends how you look at it. In way, it is clever in that it tried to do the best it could with the data available. On the other hand, I would have preferred an answer that acknowledges the limitations of the analysis, provided that little data is made available. This is a challenge with this type of applications, where one needs to put quite a bit of time ensuring that the AI understands what questions to take, or not, and how to articulate limitations to the response. 2025-11-19 14:44:41 From John Fix to Everyone: will AGOL Instant Apps be able to use AI assistants with feature services from on-prem enterprise 11.1? Understood the app would be use on-prem [Ismael] Support for layers is limited to hosted feature layers in ArcGIS Online in the first iteration, but our intent is to relax this limitation so layers from ArcGIS Enterprise could be used. This will happen progressively. 2025-11-19 14:45:22 From Emily Ruetz to Dan Haag (direct message): How would you like to handle questions at the end? I admit, I've lost track of which ones have been answered so far 2025-11-19 14:45:45 From Dan Haag to Emily Ruetz (direct message): I think Iโ€™ve got a handle on them if thatโ€™s Ok? 2025-11-19 14:46:07 From Melony to Everyone: When will it be available for Experience Builder and will it be able to help with app layout and widget configuration? [Ismael] Jianxia, our product manager for Experience Builder (jsong@esri.com) is considering adding an assistant for configuring apps. Feel free to contact her if you would like to discuss in more detail your requirements. 2025-11-19 14:46:15 From Dan Haag to Emily Ruetz (direct message): Is it Ok for me to ask them? 2025-11-19 14:46:48 From Emily Ruetz to Dan Haag (direct message): yes absolutely! 2025-11-19 14:46:51 From Emily Ruetz to Dan Haag (direct message): thank you 2025-11-19 14:47:59 From Dan Haag to Emily Ruetz (direct message): Iโ€™ll do my best! Itโ€™s a lot of questions so hopefully we get through them all or get back with brief written responses 2025-11-19 14:48:58 From Mitch Bergeson - USGS to Everyone: What will the name of the AI assistant be? 'Hey Ismael analyis this data' or 'Hey Jack make me a map' [Ismael] There are different approaches to assistant design. Crafting a unique personality, some argue, makes them more engaging. So far, we have decided not to give the assistant a name or unique personality. 2025-11-19 14:49:50 From John Esch to Everyone: Are there any non-GIS AI tools out there that can do some GIS like work? [Ismael] From my own experience, none that I would trust. 2025-11-19 14:50:01 From Laura Silsbee to Everyone: What's the relationship between model builder and GeoAI? [Ismael] One could use outputs from GeoAI tools to feed Model Builder workflows for analysis of data refinement, and viceversa. 2025-11-19 14:50:21 From Chuck to Everyone: Is there published documentation diagramming examples of flow of data (the prompt, GIS/attribute data, etc.) through infrastructure/service tiers - users', Esri's, and 3rd-party providers'? For example, for the ArcGIS Pro assistant? [Ismael] I would refer first to the AI assistant transparency cards.https://trust.arcgis.com/en/trusted-ai/ai-transparency-cards-list.htm If you can't find the information you are looking for, contact your Esri account manager so we can follow up on your request. 2025-11-19 14:50:23 From shawn.keizer to Everyone: What will the name of the AI assistant be? [Ismael] Not right now. 2025-11-19 14:51:43 From Matt Crossett (DC GIS) to Everyone: Is there plans to allow AGO Admins to enable certain AI tools instead of just turning them all on via AI Assistant? [Ismael] Not quite. In the next release of Online (Feb 2026) we plan on adding a new role privilege to allow or disallow use of assistants, but so far we have not made a decision to allow you to control assistants on a case by case basis. 2025-11-19 14:51:57 From Zeke to Everyone: Replying to "What will the name of the AI assistant be? Thanks Eli 2025-11-19 14:54:19 From Raquel Bensadoun to Everyone: How many credits do you project using Arcade in AGOL will cost once the Beta period is passed? IE if we use it for basic symbology vs complex notebook code [Ismael] Can't say at this moment. Our goal is not to have you been thinking about credits when using our assistants. If at all possible, they will be included with your user types at no additional cost. This still needs to be defined. 2025-11-19 14:54:20 From Dr. Jim Mitchell - LA OTS to Everyone: Are we going to get a recording link for this session? 2025-11-19 14:54:53 From Emily Ruetz to Everyone: Replying to "Are we going to get a recording link for this sess...": Yes!
