Elements of a Data Preservation Strategy, builds on an earlier NSGIC GIS 101 presentation, Data Preservation as a Legacy, and describes what a geospatial data preservation strategy is, the elements that need to be considered, the use of FAIR data principles (is the data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable), why geospatial metadata are foundational to data preservation, and some ways to incorporate data preservation strategies into the daily work of a geospatial team.
