Call for Abstracts

For the 2024 NSGIC Midyear Meeting we will be soliciting abstracts for live plenary content, which will be selected on a competitive basis. Preference will be given to State presentations and those business partners and private sector submissions that feature involvement with the states and/or a panel presentation that includes state representatives.

Don’t forget about the always popular, Sticker Swap! Bring some stickers from your organization to share with others. There will be an area setup near registration to drop off and pick up. Take a few, leave a few!

For NSGIC state representatives faced with funding challenges, NSGIC offers limited conference grants to fully or partially cover reasonable travel expenses, hotel accommodations, and/or conference registration fees. Grant application form will be available soon! Deadline for submissions will be January 19.

Hilton Hotel airport Shuttle Info:

The closest Metrorail station to the Hilton Arlington National Landing hotel is the Crystal City Metro Station which is about a 15 minute walk or roughly a 3 minute drive/Uber ride.

The Metrorail system has six color-coded rail lines: Red, Orange, Silver, Blue, Yellow, and Green. The layout of the system makes it possible to travel between any two stations with no more than a single transfer.

Finding a Metro Station

If you’re driving, look for the large Metro signs to direct you to stations. Look for tall brown columns with a large “M” identifying the station entrances. Colored stripes around the column show which lines serve the station. View the Metrorail System Map.

Late-March weather in the DC area varies, especially during the spring. Prepare for chilly evenings and warm days. The weather transitions almost daily during the springtime. So, bring a jacket to layer on in the evening when it gets into the 50’s and 60’s but it will often warm during the day.

In addition, on average, DC’s cherry blossoms bloom around the last week of March into the first week of April. But it varies from year-to-year based on weather conditions, so it can also be a little before or after that period.
